For IDM Music Startup, we worked on developing and evolving a platform for managing activities and services for artists. The project focuses on the software supporting the service’s operations and is separate from the institutional website created for iCompany.
Artists and staff, different needs
A music platform needs to provide tools both for people managing their artistic projects and for those running the service internally. Their information is connected, but the tasks performed by these two groups differ.
We developed dedicated applications for artists and staff, connected to backend services. This separation allows interfaces to be organized around each user’s work while maintaining connections between the platform’s different areas.
A shared backend for the applications
The interfaces are built in React and communicate with a Node.js and Express backend through REST APIs. The backend brings together the application logic and provides the interfaces with operations on the data.
This architecture separates the presentation of information from its processing, an important distinction in a project that needs to support operational workflows and ongoing updates beyond publishing pages.
Automating royalty data processing
Part of the work involves the periodic processing of royalty data. We developed automated procedures to handle this step within the system and connect it with the other application components.
The automation addresses a recurring task specific to the service. The project’s value lies in building software around real processes instead of fitting every need into a generic tool.
Development and operational continuity
Our work on IDM also includes maintaining and evolving the platform. Applications, backend, and infrastructure are treated as parts of the same product, with ongoing support after the initial release.
The result is a custom application system connecting the artists’ experience with the staff’s work and the processing required to run the service.
